JAN 16 - Upon further review by our Parlamenterian Kevin P , it was found that one of Petri's sports pick was ruled obscure (the olympics) because he/she was a diver. Also Sean only picked 2 sport celebrities unless we can count Sid Caeser as the coach of every sport at Rydell High School (Grease). In breaking news , Hugo Chavez was unable to give the State of the Union address in Venezuela due to detereorating health conditions. No penalties will be issued due to the fact that its a $30 dead pool and we should all be ashamed.
Fun Facts uncovered by Kevin P. that he would like to share, 4 oscar winners were drafted, 24 out of 100 draft picks were female but the jury couldnt rule conclusively on Pat Summitt, Anne B Davis and Macauly Caulkin. As far as athletes go 10 from football, 8 baseball, 2 boxing, 4 hockey,1 golfer and an obscure olympic diver. One Beverly Hillbilly but suprisingly no one from Hooterville. Sam Drucker took dirt nap in 12'. 2 from Dick van Dyke. Gavin McCleod represents McHales Navy, Mary Tyler Moore and Love Boat. Marcia Strassman was a smart pick considering the Sweathogs are down 2 since last year. These fun facts have not been confirmed but I'm not arguing. I uncovered a fun fact myself....someones got way too much free time !

Earl Weaver 82, was a 6 round pick by yours truly and new comer Candy took longtime Cardinal great Stan Musial. 92 Gentlemen we salute you. As far as team 12 goes? I never received a roster and now that 2 picks have gone to that sandlot in the sky all rosters are locked! $330

Jan 31 Patty Andrews 94 , the last of the Andrews Sisters , who should be known for such hits as Boogie Woogie Bugle boy and Don't sit under the Apple tree, but now will be unfortunately remembered as a steal in the 6th round ! He Hate Me takes one of his list and January gives us 3.

Feb 25 Its been quiet for 3 weeks but the Grim Reaper is back from vacation. Former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop, 96, passed away peacefully in his home today. Not only was he the surgeon general under Reagan and Bush sr , but he was married for 70yrs then got remarried and still wasn't a 1st rounder. Joey J got a steal when he swiped him in round 2. So far he's our oldest and highest draft choice to "go". So we say farewell and salute the man who looks the same upside down as right side up !
March 5 Call him a ruthless dictator or great leader but Hugo Chavez is no longer with us. Kevin P pulls a coup on son Colin and dethrones him from first place. Chavez 58, is our first #1 pick , #4 over-all and the also the youngest to cross over to the great beyond and for that Las Saludos Senor Chavez !
March 24 Reise Stevens , 99, who was a opera superstar in the 40s , passed away in her Manhattan Home March 20th. Sorry for the delay Missy, my subscription to the NY Metropolitan newsletter must be expired but congratualtions on a fine choice. Also Bravo Ms. Stevens, farewell.
April 2 Jack Pardee 76, was diagnosed with inoperable cancer last november, they gave him 6-9 months and he unfortunately passed yesterday. Pardee was an All-American at Texas A&M and also player and coach in the NFL. He had also was on the losing end of the greatest comeback in NFL history . Colin parlayed that info into making him a solid 1st round pick. Thats 2 for Colin, which puts him soley in 1st place. RIP Coach.
April 4 Just an assumimg young man from Williamsville or a Soothsayer with Alliances to the Beyond ! Colin has struck again. #3 and we are only a quarter way through. Roger Ebert 70, legendary film critic and solid 2nd round pick, passed today after various battles with cancer. That gives Colin a solid hold on 1st place, he had 4 all of last year but lost in a tie breaker. Two thumbs up Colin and of course to you Roger Ebert !
Apr 8 Great Britian's Iron Lady , Margaret Thatcher 87, passed away today after she suffered a stroke. The Baroness who took office 1n 1979 had been in poor health in recent years. Lynne knew that, and selected her in round 5. Now Lynne is on the board and the Brits get a 
day off work, bloody well done ! Cheerio Ms. Thatcher.
Apr 8 The Colonies will not be out done. As soon as I have the Prime Minster in the books (beach blanket) BINGO ! I hear that the undisputed first Lady Of Disney has sadly passed. Annette Funicello 70, who had been suffering from MS , died today when her family decided to take her off life support. She burst on the scene as original Mousketeer , then nearly burst out of her bikini in all the beach movies. All that worrying and singing by yourself because Frankie was up to no good, what did it get you..nothing, but it gives Candy her second and she stays hot on Colin's heels. Cowabunga Ms Funicello !
AUGUST 5 Sorry about the condensed updates, maybe I can figure it out one day. After a summer lull we have some breaking news Hall Of Fame DT Art Donovan passed away at home in Baltimore at the age of 88. The 2 time world champion was a helluva football playerbut later better known for telling stories on the talk show circuit, I guess he was the Bob Uecker of football. He once told Johnny Carson he was a light eater..when it got light out he'd start eating. Hats off to you Art ! Joey J has 2 off the board now !

Apr 12 April continues to be an active month. G Money is on the board! Sadly Johnathan Winters, 87, comic genius passed away today from natural causes. Maybe my favorite Hollywood Square ever , he also was known for his frequent talk show appearances and starring in It's A Mad. Mad , Mad , Mad World. He probabaly doesn't want to be known from his role on Mork and Mindy, never understood that. Right now , her and Colin are tied with 3 but Colin holds the tie breaker. He was smart enough to grab a "YOUNG" draft pick w Reg Presley. Tiebreaker is cummulative age. 12-15 Candy strikes AGAIN. Breaking the tie with Colin. Peter O'Toole passes away at 81. The 8 time academy award nominated actor expired after a long illness. This could be the clincher. 16 days left....never know ! 12-16 Holy Crap we have another one. Oscar Award winning actress and little sister of 4th rd pick Olivia Dehaviland, JOAN FONTAINE passes away today at age 96. A 10th rd pick of Joey J makes # 19. Thats 3 for Joey! One off the lead. She was in a bunch of Hitchcock films so maybe this isn't the end just a twist before the finale????
